ATA / ATAPI / UDMA Pod for Bus Doctor Analyzer

The ATA/ATAPI/UDMA Pod turns the Bus Doctor into a full-featured protocol analyzer, with the depth, ease-of-use, protocol decoding, and statistics needed by software and systems testers. The ATA/ATAPI pod supports both normal and small form-factor connectors. It provides the features needed by hardware engineers including multi-level triggering, filtering, state configuration, and timing analysis of PIO, DMA and UDMA transfers with speed capability exceeding 200MB/s. It supports ATA/ATAPI 7 as well as the 48-bit LBA addressing of terabyte-plus drives. It decodes the ATA commands used by hard drives and the ATAPI protocol used by CD, DVD and Tape devices.

ATA / ATAPI / UDMA Displays
At the Command level, the ATA/ATAPI analyzer provides a big-picture view for testers who are troubleshooting system-level or application-level issues. The State display provides register-level access details for users who need to monitor ATA/ATAPI software, device drivers or firmware. For hardware engineers, the Timing Waveform display provides for analysis of ATA/ATAPI signal activity.

ATA / ATAPI Capturing
The ATA/ATAPI analyzer provides 3 predefined capture configurations:
- Timing Mode (Store all transitions)
- State Mode - PIO/DMA/UDMA & HRESET
- State Mode - PIO/DMA/UDMA & UDMA CRC
Modes 2 and 3 allow the user to decide between using a state to store Hard Resets or UDMA CRC values. Custom State Modes can also be created.

ATA / ATAPI Triggering
The ATA/ATAPI Analyzer provides high-level trigger configurations for most common trigger scenarios. The high-level triggers provide drop-down boxes that enable the user to select specific commands, addresses, etc from a list, without memorizing opcodes. Users can also create and save custom triggers.

|
ATA / ATAPI Analyzer Trace Filtering
The ATA/ATAPI Analyzer provides commonly used high-level filter configurations. Some of the high-level filters provide drop-down boxes for configuration options. Users can also create and save custom filters.
After capturing, the Show/Hide controls for the Command and State Listings provide you with a variety of criteria for selection of portions of the trace to display.

ATA/ATAPI Statistics
The Real-Time Monitor is pre-configured for certain common statistical measurements, but can be easily reconfigured by the user for almost any type of measurement desired.
