Dennis W. Evans Named President & COO of Data Transit Corporation

SAN JOSE, Calif. (December 03, 2002) -- Data Transit Corporation, the leading supplier of modular bus protocol analyzers, today announced the selection of Dennis W. Evans as its new president and chief operating officer. Mr. Evans brings more than 27 years of high technology business experience to Data Transit, most recently as the executive vice president, CFO and secretary of another test and measurement company, Computer Access Technology Corporation. While at Computer Access Technology, Evans led the company through a successful Initial Public Offer in November 2000. Dale Smith, Data Transit's founder, will remain as Chairman, CEO and take on additional direct responsibilities of the vice president of Engineering and CTO.

Prior to joining Computer Access Technology, Evans was the vice president and CFO for Whisper Communications, a wireless telemetry company addressing the utility industry. Prior to Whisper, Evans held various executive positions at several other companies including Sherpa, Space Applications, Holmes & Narver, and Price Waterhouse.
