Data Transit Corporation and Solution Technology offer Hands on Equipment Training Courses for SAS and SATA Storage Protocols Students can now gain hands-on experience with SAS and SATA protocols Storage World Conference, Long Beach, CA. (June 29, 2004) -- Data Transit Corporation, the leading supplier of SAS and SATA protocol analyzers has teamed up with Solution Technology, a pioneer in Storage Networking Protocol technical training classes. Solution Technology a long time provider of training for Storage Networking protocols including SCSI, Fibre Channel, TCP/IP and iSCSI will be developing its SAS and SATA classes around the Bus Doctor Analyzer and PacketMaker 2 test equipment. By utilizing Data Transit test equipment, the training classes will give students real world hands-on experience with SAS and SATA storage protocols.
"Working with Data Transit's analyzers and traffic generators enables us to provide training Solution that make it possible to learn storage protocols more rapidly," said David Deming, President of Solution Technology, "This makes the training experience much more effective and prepares our clients to be more productive in the work place." Classes are developed and taught by Solution Technology instructors. The course material is modularized and suitable for all levels in a product/engineering team. SAS and SATA classes can last from 1 to 5 days depending upon learning objectives and hands-on requirements. Each day progressively deepens in its layered coverage of the protocol. The last day is a hands-on class that gives students a chance to work in depth with a protocol. "We recognized Solution Technology as the leader in SAS/SATA training, and are proud to be able to work with them in making it easy to adopt these new technologies," said Dale Smith, Founder, President and CTO of Data Transit, "We are committed to providing not only the best protocol analysis equipment but professional protocol training for our customers." The classes available today are specific to the SAS and SATA protocols. Class participants will have an entire day to use both a Data Transit Bus Doctor RX analyzer and PacketMaker 2 traffic generator. This combination will allow class participants to create bus traffic for a variety of devices, capture bus traffic and analyze data. The PacketMaker 2 will be used to create and modify frames at the low and high levels of the SAS/SATA protocol. The Bus Doctor RX analyzer will be used to trigger and capture all key bus events for further analysis. In addition, a new SAS book written by David Deming includes detailed traces from the Data Transit Bus Analyzer product line. The classes are available already and the book will be available in August. To register for classes or to get more information please visit www.soltechnology.com.
