Data Transit Announces Upgrade Path to 3Gb/sec Serial ATA Protocol Analysis

Data Transit Strengthens its Serial ATA Leadership Position

SAN JOSE, Calif. (February 18, 2003) -- Data Transit Corporation, the leading supplier of modular bus protocol analyzers, today announced that it will sell vouchers for the upgrade of its current 1.5 Gb/sec Serial ATA protocol analysis bus pods to new 3Gb/sec bus pods expected to be available in the second quarter of 2003. The vouchers may be purchased from Data Transit starting today through March 31, 2003. They are available to Data Transit's leading installed base of customers as well as new customers.

"Since we began shipping our 1.5 Gb/sec Serial ATA bus pod in large volumes, our customers have asked about our capability to someday support 3 Gb/sec. Now that we are close to introduction, we wanted to reassure them their investment in Data Transit's Bus Doctor would be protected," said Dennis Evans, president and COO, Data Transit Corporation. "Bus Doctor's modularity and configuration options offer the ability to analyze more bus protocols than any other protocol analyzer. We also provide a solid platform that provides the features and functionality our customers need today and tomorrow."

The voucher would allow Data Transit customers to trade in their 1.5 Gb/sec bus pods in exchange for 3 Gb/sec pods when they become available. Both the current and the new Serial ATA pods are compatible with all varieties of Data Transit's Bus Doctor™ 108 channel protocol analyzers, which includes the Workstation and new Rx analyzers.

"We are committed to maintain our leadership in high-speed serial busses for storage and this is just another example of that commitment." said Dale Smith, chairman and CEO, Data Transit Corporation. "Our line of protocol analyzers and traffic generators have been designed for our SAN and server customers."

Data Transit's Serial ATA protocol analyzer and PacketMaker™ traffic generator for Serial ATA will be demonstrated at the Intel® Developer Forum within the Serial ATA Community, booth #501. The company will also be demonstrating its complete Bus Doctor line of protocol analyzers. In addition to Serial ATA, Bus Doctor analyzers support protocol analysis of Serial Attached SCSI, ATA/ATAPI, USB, 1394a, SCSI I through 320, InfiniBand™ 1X and 4X, Gigabit Ethernet, Fibre Channel, PCI, PCI-X, CardBus, PCMCIA, Compact Flash, and Logic. Data Transit announced today a new bus analysis pod for PCI Express. The company will demonstrate this product in booth #202, within the PCI Express Community.

Pricing and Availability
The upgrade vouchers are available for purchase today. These vouchers are available for new and existing customers for as little as $1500. This preferential pricing shall continue until March 31, 2003.
